It has been my experience that self employed individuals and small business owners are unaware of the extent of deductions available to them. Conversely, incorporated small business owners have the mistaken idea they can deduct items which may be considered personal in nature. CRA is increasingly closing loopholes to minimize the tax drip and to ensure more equity in the process. As a business owner, according to the CRA, the onus is on you to know what can/cannot be deducted, when taxes are due, how much is due, etc. It is in the best interest of the business owner to surround him/herself with experts to relieve this stress. This is where I can help.
A review and subsequent client debriefing, whether via Zoom, telephone and hopefully at some point in person, will ensure you are fully informed of the status of your filing. Further, I will not put you or your business at risk to minimize taxes by using an approach which cannot be supported.
